Dr. Amir Bashir Bazaz is the lead practice at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), specializing in economics, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and sustainable development. He holds a Ph.D. in Management from IIM Ahmedabad and a B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee. With expertise in integrated assessment frameworks and urban-climate linkages, he has served as the National Expert Consultant for India’s Second National Communication to the UNFCCC. At IIHS, he leads regional research on climate adaptation under the ASSAR project and contributes to practice-based initiatives on energy innovation, ecosystem sustainability, and migration-climate resilience, supported by global institutions like IDRC, DfID, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
