
Dr. Abdullah Nisar Siddiqui

Abdullah Nisar Siddiqui is currently associated with the Action for Climate and Environment (ACE) unit at United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India, supporting the transition towards low carbon, climate resilient and inclusive development. With a passion for computational techniques and performance modeling, he is committed towards developing impactful policies and regulations for the built environment. He is a Master Trainer on Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Govt. of India.
Prior to joining UNDP, he was associated with Indo German Energy Programme (IGEN) at GIZ India supporting Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to improve thermal comfort in Affordable Housing. His past experience also includes Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), where he managed the development and enforcement of building energy codes and performance standards. He has served on technical committees and working groups for Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), Eco-Niwas Samhita (ENS) and has supported multiple states in developing their Energy Conservation Building Codes. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee at GRIHA Council, and also a voting member on the ASHRAE’s Standard Committee for 90.2: High-Performance Energy Design of Residential Buildings. With his diverse knowledge and experience of the building sector, he has been contributing towards numerous government schemes promoting decarbonization of the built environment.
